Irie Ulrich was born singing. Madison, Wisconsin – AKA Madtown – set the stage for her early debuts in theater, choir, and solo performances. Irie was weird, rebellious, wildly emotional and artistic. Songwriting quickly became an outlet for exploring this fusion of traits. Having been classically trained on the piano and self-taught on the guitar, Irie has learned by book and by ear, inspired by such musical artists as Maggie Rogers, Reneé Rapp, and Billie Eilish. A regular concert-goer and music aficionada, she has finally landed upon her authentic style as a musician. She explores themes of love and complex relationships to make art from the messiness inside her brain. Her greatest joy is collaborating with fellow artists and sharing music.
